Intermodal Asia is the must-attend event bringing the container and intermodal industry together, taking place on 17-19 March 2020 in Shanghai, China.
The 2020 event was officially launched on 3 December in a press conference in Shanghai, hosted by Intermodal Asia and the China Container Shipping Industry Association (CCIA). It was an opportunity to explain the significance of the CCIA and how it and the event will combine to promote and develop the container shipping sectorin China and the wider Asia region.
Intermodal Asia 2020 is set to bring together 9,500+ leading international decision-makers from over 90 different countries. It helps the industry embrace new technologies such as AI and container innovations, and face global challenges including piracy and the uncertain international economic outlook. The 2020 event will feature a full programme of seminars and presentations, and new features such as the Technology Zone and Container Park showcasing the very latest products and technologies.
The press conference featured presentations from Huang Tianhua, President of China Container Industry Association; Li Muyuan, Executive Vice President and Secretary General of China Container Industry Association; Rob Fisher, Event Director of Intermodal Asia; and Fan Landers, Commercial Director of Intermodal Events.
Mr. Huang introduced the association, explaining its prominence across the entire container and multimodal operation supply chain in China, including intermodal transportation, container finance and container technology. With China accounting for 96% of global container production and sales, as Ms. Li explained, the CCIA is a key driver of global trade and transportation, making its collaboration and presence at Intermodal Asia essential.
The event was attended by several local and national media associations, including HK Shipping Gazette, XinHua News, People's Daily, China News Agency and more.
