The return of the Intermodal Europe exhibition after an enforced break for the pandemic brought crowded aisles to the RAI Exhibition Centre in Amsterdam. Confirming its place in the calendar as Europe’s principal event for container, shipping and intermodal transport professionals, exhibitors and visitors alike proclaimed it as a success.
A strong conference programme focussing on hot industry topics such as sustainability, collaboration and digitisation drew delegates in great numbers from across Europe and the rest of the world. Furthermore, the 120+ exhibitors reported high levels of enquiries and engagement, as Intermodal Europe celebrated its first in-person event since 2019.
Patrick Hicks, Secretary of the Container Owners Association, said: “It's been a really good event for the COA. We’ve had a lot of visitors throughout the three days of the event and a lot of new customers, but a lot of old friends as well. It’s been really great to network with a lot of people after three years.”
Bijoy Paulose, Chairman of India-based shipping and logistics software company iInterchange, added to the sentiment: “It's been brilliant. Very good. We've had very good footfall and quality interactions. We've been coming to Intermodal for the last 18 years and this is our biggest show, where we put in our maximum focus, because most of our clients come to this show.”
Reflecting on a successful staging of Intermodal Europe, Group Event Director at show organiser Informa Markets, said: “I’m delighted for the industry that we can offer them once again a trusted and well-attended event. As expected, a lot of visitors and exhibitors have missed the benefits of face-to-face meetings, and the feedback from them has been extremely positive. The hunger and anticipation to meet up again in-person has been tangible, and attendees to Intermodal Europe 2022 appear to have been taking full advantage of the occasion.”
Intermodal Europe 2023 is scheduled to take place again in Amsterdam on 10th-12th October.
