Touax Container celebrates its 40 years anniversary at Intermodal Europe

It all started in San Francisco in 1983, with approximately 5,000 TEU (twenty foot equivalent units) owned and operated by GOLD CONTAINER in the United States.

The Touax Group acquired the GOLD company in 1985 and has since been developing its asset management platform to serve many players in the maritime industry around the world. In 2008, they took their first key step and celebrated their first 100,000 containers managed on behalf of the Group and third-party investors.

In 2012, they renamed their division Touax Container, to be in line with the two other divisions of the Group managing also sustainable transport assets, Touax Rail and Touax River Barges.

Over all those years, Touax Container has aimed to develop close and standing business relationships with all the major container shipping lines.

Touax Container is a global player in leasing and trading solutions with a fleet of 385,000 TEUs high standard dry and refrigerated containers at the end of 2022.

Touax propose an extensive range of products and services for new and used containers to the shipping, logistics and industrial markets.

Touax Container are also a leader in operational management of containers on behalf of third party financial investors.

They operate internationally with dedicated local teams based on three continents and utilising a global network of more than 180 strategically located depots.

Touax Container is a division of Touax Group, an international leasing and asset management company of sustainable transport equipment: maritime containers, rail cars, and river barges. Created in 1853 and listed on the Paris Stock Exchange since 1906, Touax Group is celebrating its 170-year anniversary in 2023.
